What is your primary product or service?
People - The primary purpose of our 37-year old workforce development program is to integrate low-income, vulnerable adults (people with disabilities, former substance abusers, ex-offenders, and homeless people) into the workforce. Through real work at one of our two facilities as well as our temporary employment program, we instill a strong work ethic in our population and build their self-esteem and work skills to the point where those who are able are ready to move into the real workforce. We do real work that is outsourced to us from some 95 different customers - we do mailings, sorting, kitting, collating, corrugated assembly, mechanical assembly, contract manufacturing, etc. - anything that will enable us to reach out and help more vulnerable adults.

The mission - All of our management team have come from the for-profit sector - we are a true social enterprise
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
There is no other organization quite like us - 70 % of our annual revenue comes from the work that we do for our 95 customers and the rest we raise from private sources - we do not accept any government funding.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have 2 - a 35,000 square foot facility in Malvern, PA and a 70,000 square foot facility in Philadelphia, PA - no current plans to expand, although there should be a Baker Industtries in every major city.
